The Story

Founded in 1999, Indiglow began with an act of empowerment. At a time when a young woman’s ambition could so easily be dismissed, a visionary father-in-law chose instead to champion it. Together, Sonal and Rashmi Patel set out to build a candle atelier rooted in craftsmanship and purpose.

The founders recognised something important: beautifully crafted, high-quality candles were still largely associated with European brands, while those made locally were often perceived as a less refined alternative. Their vision was clear - to create impeccably crafted candles in India, bringing together exceptional quality and a distinctly Indian sensibility.

Their pursuit of mastery led them to London, where they trained under the renowned David Constable, candlemaker to the British Royal Household. His guidance shaped their technique and philosophy. They brought this classical foundation back to India, blending it with the richness of Indian craftsmanship to create a technique unmistakably theirs.

Today, Indiglow remains proudly family-run. Though we have lost Rashmi Patel, his legacy continues through Sonal and his granddaughters, Tanasha and Dhwani, who have now begun stepping into the business. They bring their own perspectives to the craft while carrying forward the values on which Indiglow was built.

And so, the story comes full circle - a belief in one woman's ambition, now passed on to the next generation. It's this same care, one generation after another, that keeps those who have found us returning - not simply for a candle, but for the familiar glow, fragrance and feeling of a memory beautifully kept.
